Every biennium, Florida Massage Therapists are required to complete 12 Classroom hours of Relevant to and focus on massage therapy techniques as part of their CE renewal requirements.
In order for a course to count towards the Relevant to and focus on requirement, the course must meet the following requirements:
1.) The activity must be completed in a live, in person format. Furthermore, the course must be completed in the presence of an instructor and it must include hands-on participation by the licensee and/or demonstration by the instructor.
2.) All providers must submit the courses through CE Broker to the Florida Board of Massage Therapy.
Why aren't my Relevant To and Focus on Massage Therapy Techniques Classroom hours applying to the specific requirement within my CE Broker account?
There could be numerous reasons as far as why an activity is not counting towards your Classroom hour requirement. Some of the top reasons may include:
-
The course was not completed in a live, in person setting.
-
The course is approved to offer Instruction or General hours. This includes Anytime and Live hours that are completed via distance learning (Broadcasted Interactive Event, Webinar, etc.).
-
The activity was completed in a live, in person setting and when the provider submitted the course within CE Broker, they submitted the hours under the wrong subject area.
