Chiropractors 

Required to complete a total of 40 hours each biennium. Below you will find how those 40 hours are broken down into specific areas. Keep in mind that all credits that you receive are required to be live classes

  • General Hours: 27 hours
  • Medical Error: 2 hours
  • Laws and Rules: 2 hours
  • Risk Management: 1 hour
  • Record Keeping/Documentation and Coding: 6 hours
  • Ethics and Boundaries: 2 hours

First time renewals: You are required to attend one full day at a Florida Board of Chiropractic Medicine meeting within the first 12 months of licensure. If you live out of the state, you may satisfy this requirement within 12 months after locating to the State of Florida.

Chiropractic Physicians initially licensed in the biennium and renewing a license for the first time are required to complete the following:

  • Six (6) hours of record keeping/documentation and coding
  • Two (2) hours in the area of ethics and boundaries
  • Two (2) hour course relating to prevention of medical errors
  • Three (3) hours of HIV/AIDS

Certified Chiropractor Physician Assistant

Required to complete a total of 24 continuing education hours. Keep in mind that all courses must be completed by live classroom.

  • General Hours: 22  
  • Medical Errors: 2
