Oklahoma Osteopathic Physicians are required to complete one hour of Continuing Medical Education (CME) each year dedicated to the subject of Pain Management, Opioid Use or Addiction. However, licensees who do not possess a registration to prescribing Controlled Dangerous Substances in Oklahoma are exempt from this specific requirement.
To ensure your account reflects accurate compliance, you must report this exemption in CE Broker for each applicable cycle.
How to Report Your Exemption
Follow these steps to report that you are not licensed to prescribe controlled dangerous substances:
Log in to your CE Broker account.
Click Report CE at the top of the page.
Select the Additional Options tab.
Select the correct CE Cycle for which you are reporting the exemption.
Locate the option for Not licensed to prescribe controlled dangerous substances and click Begin.
Answer Yes to the attestation question confirming you do not have CDS prescribing authority.
Click Continue, then click Submit CE.
Once submitted, the one-hour Pain Management, Opioid Use or Addiction requirement will be removed from your transcript for that specific renewal cycle. Please note that while you are exempt from the prescribing hour, you are still required to complete the remaining hours of AOA Category 1 CME mandated by the Board.
