Georgia Licensed Dietitians are required to complete 30 hours of continuing professional education every biennial renewal cycle. While the Georgia Board of Examiners of Licensed Dietitians accepts various types of activities, specific categories have maximum hour limitations per biennium.
To ensure your reported hours apply toward your renewal requirements, you must verify these limits before submitting your documentation.
How to View Credit Limits in Your Account
When reporting hours, you can check the "Learn More" section that outlines the specific restrictions for each reporting category.
Log in to your CE Broker account.
Click the + Report CE button located at the top of your dashboard.
Locate the specific reporting option you wish to submit (e.g., "Viewing a Exhibit").
Click the Learn More button found directly under the specific category name.
Review the pop-up information to see the maximum hours allowed for that category.
Common Credit Maximums for GA Dietitians
The Georgia Board maintains strict caps on certain non-traditional learning activities. If you exceed these limits, the additional hours will not count toward your 30-hour requirement for the current cycle.
| Activity Type | Maximum Allowed Per Biennium |
|---|---|
| Viewing Exhibits | 6 Hours |
| Recorded Pre-Approved CPE | 12 Hours |
| Poster Sessions | 6 Hours |
| Professional Reading | 6 Hours |
| Professional Leadership | 6 Hours |
| Sponsored Independent Learning | 20 Hours |
| Conducting Dietetics-Related Research | 20 Hours |
| Study Group | 20 Hours |
Note: Academic coursework, Interactive Workshops, and Lectures/Seminars generally allow up to the full 30 hours, provided they meet the Board's criteria for dietetics-related content.
