Florida Athletic Trainers are required to maintain active Board of Certification (BOC) compliance and current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification to fulfill state licensure requirements.
This guide provides Florida Athletic Trainers with instructions on how to submit a BOC certification, report continuing education (CE) hours from a BOC transcript, and upload the required CPR card in CE Broker.
Reporting Board of Certification (BOC) Requirements
Depending on your current status, you can either report your active BOC certification or self-report individual continuing education hours earned from a BOC transcript.
Option A: Report Current BOC Certification
If you hold a current certification through the BOC during the biennium, you can satisfy your general continuing education requirements by submitting your certification card and number.
Log in to your CE Broker account.
Click Report CE.
Click Additional Options.
Select "Current BOC Certification".
Enter your BOC Certification Number.
Attach a copy of your active BOC Certification Card or select "Maintain my own" if you don't have a copy.
Click Submit.
Note: Demonstrating compliance through a current BOC certification also requires submitting proof of a Board-approved Prevention of Medical Errors course and a current CPR certification at the professional rescue level.
Option B: Report CE Hours from a BOC Transcript
If you are not reporting a full BOC certification but need to report specific BOC-approved continuing education courses listed on your transcript:
Log in to your CE Broker account.
Click Report CE.
Select BOC Transcript.
Enter the course details and completed hours as prompted.
Attach a copy of your BOC Transcript or select "Maintain my own" if you don't have a copy.
Click Submit.
Important Guidelines for BOC Transcripts:
Hours reported in a single submission must belong to the same course type (e.g., live hours and self-study hours must be submitted separately).
All reported hours must be completed within the current single license biennium.
Reporting CPR Certification or Recertification
All Florida Athletic Trainers must maintain a current certification in CPR with an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) at the professional rescue level (Rule 64B33-2.003).
CPR Requirements
You must enter the total number of hours completed during training (minimum of 1 hour).
Approved CPR Providers:
American Red Cross
American Heart Association
American Safety and Health Institute
National Safety Council
An entity approved by the Florida Board of Athletic Training as equivalent
First-Time License Renewals: CPR requirements completed prior to initial licensure are accepted as long as the certification card remains active through the renewal period.
Steps to Upload Your CPR Card
Log in to your CE Broker account.
Click Report CE.
Select CPR Certification/Recertification.
Enter the course details and the number of training hours completed (minimum 1 hour) as prompted.
Attach a copy of your active CPR Certification Card.
Click Submit.
