Understanding the Relationship Between NABP and CE Broker
If you have a CPE Monitor account with the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), you can use it to track and store any ACPE-approved continuing education (CE) activities. From your CPE Monitor account, you can generate a transcript for any date range reflecting completed CE activities.
Some activities may be reported to both your CPE Monitor transcript and your CE Broker account, depending on the education provider, but your CPE Monitor account is entirely separate from CE Broker and does not report directly to it.
Don’t worry—depending on your profession, the Board of Pharmacy allows ACPE-approved CE hours from CPE Monitor to be applied toward your state licensure renewal. The Board has streamlined the process for reporting your CPE Monitor transcript to CE Broker, making it quick and easy to ensure your hours are properly credited.
Reporting CPE Monitor Hours to Your CE Broker Account
1. Review your CE Broker account and your CPE Monitor transcript.
Some providers registered with the Board of Pharmacy may have already submitted your completed hours to both your CE Broker account and your NABP (CPE Monitor) profile. To prevent double-counting, make sure to exclude any activities on your CPE Monitor transcript that are already reflected in your CE Broker account when reporting for licensure.
2. Add up all the Live hours and Home Study hours on your NABP transcript
To calculate your CE hours, add up all Live and Home Study hours separately for activities completed within your current state renewal cycle.
You can determine whether an activity is approved for Live or Home Study by checking the far-right columns of your CPE Monitor transcript, which list the number of hours for each type.
Alternatively, you can identify the type using the ACPE approval number: an “L” indicates a Live activity, and an “H” indicates a Home Study activity.
Examples:
Live activity: 0234-0000-19-002-L04-P
Home Study activity: 0256-0000-16-003-H02-P
3. Report your CE hours in CE Broker by entering the total Live hours and total Home Study hours separately.
To do this, log into your CE Broker account, click ⊕ Report CE, and select the appropriate reporting option. When prompted for a completion date, enter the date of the most recently completed activity for each category.
