If you're licensed with the New Mexico Board of Nursing, your account may include more than one license type — most commonly a Registered Nurse (RN) license and a Certified Nurse Practitioner (APRN) license. Because CE requirements differ between these license types, it's important to understand your reporting options before you submit credit.
If you take your course through a CE Provider that reports completions directly to CE Broker, you don't need to self-report it. Give the provider both of your New Mexico license numbers when you complete the course, and they can report your credit to both licenses on your behalf.
Professions Included: Licensed Practical Nurse, Registered Nurse, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, Certified Hemodialysis Technician, Certified Hemodialysis Technician II, Certified Medication Aide, Certified Medication Aide II, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Certified Nurse Practitioner, Lactation Care Provider.
How to report continuing education for the New Mexico Board of Nursing:
Step 1: From your Credentials Overview page, click Report CE in the top right corner.
Step 2: Select the license you want to report continuing education for — Registered Nurse or Certified Nurse Practitioner.
Alternatively, you can go directly to a specific license without this selection step: click the dropdown arrow next to View Details for that license, then select Report CE.
Step 3: Once a license is selected, choose how you want to report:
Option 1 — Report to individual licenses. Shows reporting options that require credit to be reported to this one license at a time.
Option 2 — Report a single course to multiple licenses. Shows reporting options that let you report one course to this license and your other license at once.
We recommend reviewing Option 1 for each license before using Option 2. Option 2 only surfaces reporting options that apply to both your RN and APRN licenses at the same time — some valid reporting options for one license type won't appear there simply because they don't also apply to the other. Checking Option 1 for each license individually first lets you see the full set of reporting options available, so you don't miss one that only shows up under Option 2.
Step 4: Select the reporting option that matches your course. Use the Learn More and How to Report drop-down next to each option if you're not sure which one applies, then click Report.
Step 5: Answer the prompts, including your completion date, course type, approval type, education provider information and number of hours.
Step 6: Attach your certificate
Step 7: Review your entry for accuracy and click Submit CE. Your credit will appear in your course history immediately.
If a course does apply to both your RN and APRN licenses, you can use Option 2 to report it to both at once instead of repeating the process twice.
