Many State Board–approved providers report course completions directly to your CE Broker account, which can take up to 30 days, though timing varies by provider. If you have a deadline or your provider doesn’t report to CE Broker, you can self-report your hours using the instructions in this article.
Before beginning the manual reporting process, have your CE certificate documentation ready, as you may need to attach a digital copy.
Concierge members do not need to self-report—simply send your certificates to your account manager, and we’ll handle everything for you! For more details about becoming a Concierge member, please check out the following link: Upgrading Your Account
Please note that certain regulatory agencies such as the Tennessee Real Estate Commission (TREC) and the Ohio State Cosmetology Board do not permit self-reporting.
How to self-report your CE/CME:
1. Log in to your CE Broker account.
2. Click ⊕ Report CE at the top of the page.
3. For accounts with multiple licenses, verify that the license you intend to report for is selected. Then make sure the Report CE/CME tab is selected. Please keep in mind the following:
- Credits that are applicable to multiple licenses must be reported to each license individually.
-
If you have been issued individual certificates of completion, they must be reported individually for each licensure as well.
4. Determine which type of CE you want to report from the available reporting options. The option you select depends on the type of activity and its approval method. If you’re unsure which category applies, use the Learn More and How to Report drop downs to review additional information for each option.
- Unless otherwise indicated, credits must be reported one certificate at a time.
- Renewal packages presented in the CE Broker Course Search are considered a single course and issue a single certificate upon completion.
-
If your Board permits reporting multiple courses at once, such as via a transcript, this will be clearly indicated next to the corresponding reporting option, as shown in the example below.
6. Answer the questions as prompted. The questions may vary by your regulating board and can include details such as the completion date, course type, number of hours, educational provider, and course name—all of which should be listed on your certificate of completion. Be sure to click Continue after each section to advance the submission form.
7. Depending on your profession and State Board, some reporting options may require you to search for your educational provider or course instead of entering the information manually. To ensure a smooth process, keep the following in mind:
Verify that the course is approved for the reporting option you selected.
If the provider or course does not appear in the search results, it may not be approved for that category or subject area.
We recommend searching by the educational provider name or the course tracking number, which typically begins with “50-” for providers and “20-” for courses.
8. Once you reach the Attachments page, you’re almost done! Attach your certificate of completion, or select Maintain Your Own Documentation if available, then click Continue.
9. You’re now ready to submit your CE. On the final page, you’ll attest that the information entered is accurate—simply click Submit CE to complete the process. Your self-reported credit will appear in your CE Broker course history immediately, giving your Board instant access to it.
